Lucky's Legacy

Iceman

Iceman

Iceman is a gentle giant who was an eventing champion before losing his vision. Now completely blind, Iceman enjoys daily romps in the largest paddock with his seeing-eye horse and best friend, Prize.

Joy

Joy

With a heavy heart and deep sadness, we bid farewell to our Joy on Saturday November 19th. This beautiful little girl will be greatly missed.

Joy, the princess of the barn, was a rescue with the State Veterinarian's Office. She was severely malnourished. So malnourished that she collapsed and spent two weeks on IV Fluids. Her blood analysis showed no vitamin E in it. Joy responded well to good nutrition and supplements of vitamin E. Though her body had healed her spirit remained wounded and she was sometimes fearful with humans. She needed patient and understanding people to care for her, which she found at Lucky's Legacy. Joy spent her final years here as a happy healthy horse, with people that gave her love and respect.

Prize

Prize

Prize is a thirteen year-old chestnut Thoroughbred gelding. He raced at Rockingham Park in Salem, NH, until the injury to his left front ankle left him unsound. He is easy to handle and can be an ideal companion horse. That's why when Lucky passed away in March of 2010 Prize took over his position as seeing-eye horse for Iceman and they are now inseparable.
