Horse Care

Join us at Lucky's Legacy to provide the best possible care for the rescued horses !

Daily tasks may include:

grooming all of the horses

escorting them to their spacious paddocks in the morning and back to their stalls in the evening

mucking stalls

Feeding and watering the horses (each horse has a customized breakfast and dinner menu)

administering necessary supplements and medications 

some horses may need groundwork training and/or extra handling also

Barn Maintenance

Barns need care and Maintenance too!  Lucky's Legacy is always in need of volunteers to assist with all kinds of repairs and maintenance such as:

repairing broken fence boards

mending stall doors and fixtures

repairing the water lines and pumps

Additionally there is general maintenance such as

painting

moving the manure pile

mowing the grass

building and driveway repairs

and more chores pop onto the“to do” list all the time

  If you are handy with light construction and repairs, mechanically inclined, or interested in landscaping, we could use your help!

Administration, Development, and Fundraising

We are constantly looking for people interested in fundraising and grant writing, as well as with promotion of our adoptable horses!  If you would like to organize and implement a fundraiser to help support Lucky's Legacy, please contact us!  We are looking for new board members as well- please contact us if you have fundraising, grant writing, development, and/or promotional experience and would like to discuss joining the Lucky's Legacy Board of Directors!
